The tube’s linear circuit board is adorned with a series of SMD LED chips that sit within a protective, cylindrical glass shell. This use of glass - rather than plastic - prevents the tube from bending, warping or discolouring over time. Each tube carries a 2-year Lightbulbs Direct warranty as standard, alongside a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
Where a traditional fluorescent tube would use approximately 58W to produce 2300 lumens, these modern LED T8 tubes use just 24W. This, coupled with the light bulb’s vastly superior nominal lifetime of 40,000 hours, has the potential to reduce lighting bills by up to 90%. Despite the much-improved performance offered by its LED componentry, it shares the same G13 fitting as the fluorescent tubes it’s been designed to replace. This makes upgrading incredibly simple and completely removes the need for rewiring of any sort. Simply remove your power-hungry 58W 5ft fluorescent tube, replace it with this 24W LED equivalent and you can begin to benefit from substantially reduced lighting costs almost immediately.
No warping, no bending. Replaces 58W fluorescent tube but consumes only 24W of power. Supplied in rigid 2mm cardboard tube to minimise risk of transport damage. Not suitable for dimming.
Fitted with a standard sized G13 2-pin (13mm apart) caps to both ends.
* Includes an LED starter for direct retrofit into existing battens where starters are used. For circuits which have an electronic ballast, Crompton Lamps recommends bypassing the ballast and wiring this light bulb directly to the mains for optimum efficiency. We highly recommend that the installation is carried out by a qualified electrician to ensure the best results. For more installation information please see manufacturers website.
If you should purchase an LED light bulb from Lightbulbs Direct and have it fail, break or develop a fault at any point within the timeline stated above from the date of purchase, we will happily replace the item or offer a full refund, depending on your wishes.
In instances where large numbers of bulbs fail within a relatively short period of time, we may ask you to return them to us so that they can undergo testing to identify any potential issues.
This product is also covered by a manufacturer's warranty for a period of 5 years from date of purchase. Please visit the manufacturer's website for further details.
In any instance where your bulb has developed a fault, we will do our utmost to replace it or offer a full refund (provided the item is still within its stated warranty period). However, if it becomes apparent that the product has been misused, tampered with or modified in any way, we will view this as having voided its warranty.
'Misuse" includes, but is not limited to, incorrect operation by the user, use of non-dimmable bulbs on a dimmable circuit or connection to or operation with an unsuitable power supply. 'Tampering' or 'modification' can be interpreted as any activity designed to alter the product in such a way that it can be used in a manner that wasn't intended by its original design. This can include rewiring, removing plugs, home repairs or changing components. Unfortunately, we won't be able to replace any item that has undergone any such process.
