This modern reincarnation of the classic 1930s "squirrel cage" lamp has a decorative filament wound in the shape of a cage inside the lamp. Designed for use in classic lanterns, period homes and the like, the lamp is normally used in such a way as to display the unusual filament formation. Unlike the original, now obsolete, lamps this modern version uses a special coiled filament and modern construction to increase the rated lamp life to 4000 hours. NOTE: Picture shows the lamp used with a dimmer.
